City of birth: Wakefield (but now an honorary southerner)

Interests:
Ohhh I hate those long lists… a basic snapshot would be… swimming, walking through windswept countryside, tramping across isolated foreign parts to look at some obscure archaeological site…. genetics, neuroscience, physics and lots of stuff, especially playing.

Favourite TV-Shows:
Dr Who            Apprentice

Dexter             Chuck

Heroes

House

This list looks really bad….I don’t watch that much tv! In fact I love sky+.

Favourite Books and Reading:

One of my favourite authors Kate Atkinson.  I have just completed her most recent book One Good Turn. Brilliant book and has always the way she winds all the stories and characters together, whilst leaving that final twist of uncertainty is intriguing and keeps you reading.

I also love: Norman Mailer ‘The Castle in the Forest’ and Elizabeth Kostova ‘The Historian’

I have been reading Gilgamesh and the early creation stories.  Started Principia Mathematica….mmm Bertrund Russell…like his mind….His mind in Brad Pitt? Perfect Male?

I am revisiting Penrose….I JUST ADORE Penrose.

Favourite music:
Just about everything.  See my playlist.

Favourite drink:

Favourite meal:

I am a platypus so …ermmm fish.

Favourite countries for traveling:
Anything European and historical.

Favourite quotes:

  • “Not everything that counts can be counted, and not everything that can be counted counts.” (Sign hanging in Einstein’s office at Princeton)
  • “In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.” Douglas Adams (1952—2001)
  • “Research is what I’m doing when I don’t know what I’m doing.” Werner von Braun
